Hello,

This problem seems to be very similar to topic #7832 - 11/01/06. I wonder if that was ever resolved.

<> Ledger 8.0D (061013) will not Print nor Preview any reports.
<> Preview simply flashes the "Printing Report" message and goes back back to the report settings window without displaying any report
<> All other (AP,AR,OE,IC,etc.) modules working fine
<> O/S WinXP Pro SP2.
<> Peer-to-Peer with problem on Server PC as well
<> No DIC Errors in any modules
<> Does not work with Sample Data either.
<> Client Data works fine on my PC
<> Ledger has been completely uninstalled and the ALwin and QRasp (root of report tables drive) folder renamed before reinstall.
<> Also re-installed their most recently dated (Nov06) SP to another module hoping that it might update any system files that might be causing a problem.
<> Installations done as Adagio User with Administrator rights
<> ChkSys reports no errors

I have emailed (as they were so long) the full Status log files to your Tech Support for review. Let me know what you think as nothing I have tried seems to work.

Hi, Peter,

Are you getting a specific error message when you try printing these reports? If so, what exactly does it say?

Can you do a comparison of your SOFTRAK\System\QRASP folder and your root QRASP folder looking specifically at the QRTALW65.QRW and QRTALZ80.QRW files? Do you have them in both? Are they the same dates? The QRTALW65 table should have a date of 03/26/2003 and the QRTALZ80 of 04/28/2006.

Are you using MultiCurrency? If so, you should also verify that file QRTMCW80 exists with a date of 08/12/2003.

If you are receiving an error message, knowing exactly what it says would be very useful to us.

Also, does it happen in sample data?

Hi Peter,

Could you try printing the Ledger reports to a different printer? We think we have found a difference where a particular printer driver can't print/preview Adagio Ledger reports because their rpt file names are more than 8 characters long. AR/AP/OE/IC report names are all 8 characters or less.

Perhaps the printer driver cannot support long file names.

Adagio SalesAnalysis will also have this problem with all reports except for the Company Profile report, for the same reason.

Hello Softrak,

After a visit and closer look today, a couple reports I tried actually printed but would not preview.

It's a SHARP AM-900 USB printer that uses a Virtual Printer Port (seems like most of them do).

Using a different printer (and therefore driver) worked. The alternate printer was on another workstation but interestingly it was also a USB printer and the driver showed that it was also using a Virtual Printer Port - but works great.

Just one of those quirky things that Windows loves to drive us crazy with I guess...
