Dear Dchiri,
This file is required on older versions of Windows. Specifically, ACCPAC Plus required this command in order to run successfully through the older Windows environment.
QRWIN still prompts for this, as some users may still be running Windows 3.x (believe it or not).
By the information you have provided, you will not have a problem if you say NO to retain your original autoexec.bat. If you wish to read a more technical explanation, read the following information, which was posted on the PlusCommunity.com forum ( www.pluscommunity.com .
"Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME all have internal share capabilities. Before Windows 95 with the operating system being DOS based with Windows 3.X overlay (Windows was NOT considered an operating system at all) - Windows could not handle share internally and so it was part of an external command. (Windowing System Manager (WSM) 6.1 is from this era.) Share.exe may have be included with Win 95 but if it was not loaded in autoexec.bat or config.sys it did load the internal version built into Windows 95 when booting Windows. You can even DELETE this file and it will still load the internal share.)
Hope this has helped to clarify.
