Hello,

Our company is looking into buying e-commerce software to create an add-to-basket website. I know that Adagio OE has the option to import orders, so I need to find an e-commerce software package that will export the order data in such a way that Adagio OE can import it easily. Are there any recommended software companies or particular programs? Does anyone know of ones to stay away from? Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

If you look on this link - http://www.softrak.com/resources/links/developers.php - you will see the third party developers, and you can link to their own websites

Virtual-Vendor has a product that does EXACTLY what you are looking for. Bravo Software has software that can handle your request as well.

Never having installed either of them, I would shy away from offering my opinions. Maybe others who have had successful or unsuccessful experiences can chime in.

I can tell you that it is orders of magnitude easier and cheaper to connect a retail website to Adagio OE than a business-to-business website.

Virtual Vendor sets up easily, connects to Receivables, Inventory, and Order Entry, and handles either Retail or BtoB websites or both together in the same site. It uploads customer and item information to the site, based on your choices of how much and which type of information you want. It downloads orders to OE.

You can check out some sample websites that use Virtual Vendor at http://www.agsupply.bc.ca and http://www.mainlandfloral.com

Steve:
Why do you make the distinction B2B vs Retail for interface to Adagio OE?
One issue could be managing trade credit vs using a bankcard or other cash-proxy to settle.

Hi George

The difference is amazingly large. Anyone can set up a Retail website (on eBay or Amazon for example) in an hour. True, it won't like to Adagio, but for small volumes and small item lists, that's not a big deal. But even linking to Adagio isn't that big a deal.

With B2B, trade credit is one issue. The major issue though, is presenting the correct price for a customer, which can be a complicated issue, what with sales prices, customer discounts, quantity breaks, special prices and alternative price lists. All of this information, as well as credit limits, etc, must be passed back and forth between Adagio and the website. And I'm sure there's a lot more I haven't thought about.

Steve
