Our system got affected by virus which deleted some of the exe files. I'm missing alwin.exe, srwin.exe and sample data exe files for all modules.

I was hopping to run an latest update to restore EXEs but it won't install it referring to those missing files. When I tried to reinstall my originals it said I have newer version and install couldn't be completed.
We need to restore Adagio without loosing data.

Can you assist me with this please
Thank you

1. Make sure you have the latest full update for each module.

2. Make sure you have the serial numbers and install codes from your original installation. (You don't actually need the CD's if there has been a full version update since then.

3. Under the Softrak folder, rename the program folder. (For example rename ALWIN to ALWIN-OLD.)

4. Install the update. You will enter the codes for the update from your update notice, and will then be asked to enter the original codes.

5. At this point you would normally need to start the progrma and re-registere the software. You may be able to avoid this however, this way:

-- In the new program folder, rename the INI file (for example rename ALWIN.INI to ALWIN-NEW.INI.)

-- Copy the INI file from the folder you renamed in step 3 to the new program folder.

6. Repeat for the other modules.

I hope this helps.

Hi Jason,

Uninstalling and/or re-installing Adagio will not affect your data - it's in another directory (presumably, and should not have an EXE extension). Can you uninstall the damaged Adagio modules? If not, try re-naming the SOFTRAK\ALWIN directory and re-installing the latest updates. Someone should have the e-mails for the downloads of the updated modules. Your install codes should work from the original CD's from which you installed Adagio.

It might be worthwhile having some assistance through this process. Just consider it part of the "cost" of virus infection.

Hi Jason,

The CD's and Manuals for Adagio are supplied with serial numbers and install codes on labels that are normally affixed inside the manuals when the software is installed. Have you checked there for your install codes?

Our customer support (info @ softrak.com) should also be able to supply you with your original install codes if necessary (I think).
