Hi Judy,

If an item detail description is inserted into the subtotal section, the results will mirror the description for the last detail row just above the subtotal. Sometimes it makes sense to see the item description in the subtotal section, and sometimes it doesn't.

What are you choosing to subtotal the fields by in your subtotal (customer, item, document #, etc)? If it's anything other than Item number, then you probably don't want to have the item description in the subtotal section.

You will have to work out exactly the purpose of the report. Why do you have to use subtotal fields to get the amounts you require? Are you hiding the detail section of the report? Do you have multiple subtotals? Do you have any formatting of fields such as 'Suppress if Duplicated?

Looking at your previous posting, you have what appears to be a customer name and number, an amount of some sort, and an item description. In this situation, you probably don't need a subtotal section at all, and should just use the 'Extended invoice amount' field for the 125.00. If you need a subtotal for another reason, you probably don't want any detail fields in the subtotal section, and will have to decide how to structure the report differently to get the description where you want it.
