I've been reviewing the Sample Data for a presentation tomorrow (down to the wire as usual I know) and I'm finding the workings of the Scan Criteria somewhat confusing.

While I would have thought that all of the Filters would have been AND type relationships, this seems to be true for most of the fields but there is definitely something strange about the Call Back fields and how they work together. They seem to sometimes have an OR type relationship and other times have an AND relationship.

Using the sample data, try scanning for only "BRTDAY" between 01/01/2000 and 31/12/2006. I believe the results are incorrect. Funny thing is, if you use the [Defaults] button, dates show as 01/01/2000 to 31/12/2001, and then choose only BRTDAY the results seem to be correct - an empty list suggesting an AND relationship. Re-scan twice changing only the ending date to 31/05/2001 first and then 31/12/2006 and the results are records that shouldn't be there unless suddenly it is meant to be an OR relationship. That can't be right - can it ?

In summary, is it currently possible to consistently scan for Call Back Codes of a certain type between specific Call Back Dates (an AND relationship) ?

Some of the selections for Adagio Contacts scans are OR related - callback codes or over the credit limit, for example. It would have to be this way, otherwise the Scan list would tend to always be very short.

It seems that the callback code range and the callback date range are also OR related rather than AND. There probably are good arguments for both ways of working (AND or OR). But your point is well taken. We'll see what we can do on a future release.
