Hello Lana,

Instead of referencing the cell directly, created a "Named Range" (Formula | Named Range) for the cell and used the named range in the Querysheet function. That may fix the problem.

As an aside, I've never seen a financial statement with that many columns - how do you print it?

Hi Lana,

When using the QUERYSHEET function, we'd recommend 'naming' the cells you are referring to rather than the cell. This is because if the cell changes position from the original sheet (because rows/columns are added or removed, or you use SmartSheets), the cell does not automatically update in the QUERYSHEET formula. In these cases, the value from the QUERYSHEET function would be wrong.

To name a cell, click on it, then right-click and select 'Create named range' from the pop-up menu. From the screen that appears, replace the text 'NewName' with what you'd like as a description for the cell - do not use spaces in this name. For example, TotalCosts or SalesMTD are valid named ranges.

Then change your cell reference "AA150" to "TotalCosts" or whatever you pick for your name.

I see the behaviour you reported, where the first letter needs to be bumped (ie BA instead of AA, or BB instead of AB) if you want to refer to the 27th or later column from another sheet. This can be forwarded to the programmers, though I imagine the cell naming procedure will work for you even better (and today!).

Hi Lana,

If you send me your data (use File | Backup | Ledger data) and the name of the financial statement, I'll take a look. You might have an easier time doing this with RangeDept on a SmartSheet.
