To Softrak and all Adagio users! Hi All, We transferred from ACCPAC Plus to Adagio. To process shipments we used Scancode (shipping management s/w) and Bravo Shipping links (as a bridge between ACCPAC and Scancode). Now we can not use Shipping Links and processing all shipments manualy (extremely time consuming). My Question to Softrak and comunity: Does anyone use Scancode or any other Shipping s/w with Adagio. Thank you. Victor

Hello Victor, Have you taken a look at LinXship which provides direct integration between Adagio OrderEntry and FedEx/UPS shipping systems? The product is from Adagio Developer Partner LinXsoft. Alternatively, have you contacted Bravo (another Adagio Developer Partner) to see if they would have some similar functionality for Adagio?

Hi Andrew,
I did not try the LinXship yet. I contacted Bravo (Shipping Link for ACCPAC was designed by Bravo). They can do custom programming for us. As you know, this root is most time consuming and most expensive. I'm trying to find out if any s/w or add on is already available for Adagio. How I can contact somebody who's using LiXship to get the feed back?
Thank you Victor

Hello Victor,
The developer may be able to provide a reference site for you. I also know that Steve Schwartz, who monitors this forum, has proposed this solution to several of his clients. Perhaps he can provide a reference.

Hi Brian,
You are mistaken. LinXship does write back the shipping information into Adagio OrderEntry.

Hi Brian I have installed linXship. It does most of what Victor is looking for. It writes back into OE the shipping charges (marked up if you want), the tracking numbers, and the freight company (I think although nobody ever asked for this - it's in the Ship Via field). LinXship and Adagio integrate more elegantly than almost any other add-on I have seen - it's seamless. It's also extremely affordable for the efficiency it brings end users. On the other hand, the initial installation and setup is painful. LinXship does not write back the quantities picked/shipped and never will - remember that UPS and FedEx do not care about item details, only the weight, number of cartons and carton size. For this you will need a solution similar to one that MJD Software provided for ACCPAC Plus. I don't believe that they offer such a solution for Adagio; however if you are looking to spend money on customization I would try them in addition to Bravo. MJD Software has the experience, Bravo will probably have more interest in writing Adagio add-ons. Andrew is correct - I can provide references for linXship if you want. Hi Brian
Of course it's OK.
Sending the quantity picked/shipped from the shipping software back to OE is just a convenience, although I can appreciate how much of a timesaver it can be in a high volume environment. If this user usually ships the exact quantity ordered, then they might want to consider checking off "Quantity shipped on orders", "Default shipped as ordered" and "Default posting to order" in the Company Profile | System Options screen. Then they would only have to enter exceptions when doing billing, and there would be no extra keystrokes when entering orders. This would result in almost the same time savings.
The problem with the installation for linXship is that you have to follow an html script, and invariably something doesn't go according to plan. Until the programmers automate the process, you basically have to install it with the programmers on the other end of the phone. Typically the problems center around printer, scangun or scale integration.
The setup is painful because each user has his own special needs, such as 3rd party billing, shipping methods, residential/commercial flagging. The most common special need is that UPS/FedEx demands that the city and state be in separate fields, while Adagio OE doesn't store addresses that way. LinXship has a nifty way of getting around that, but there are sometimes problems.
Steve
