We have set up & can email statements fine. Using the same proceedure we tried invoices.
The customer is set up for both invoice & statements email.
When we proceed to invoice all goes OK, preview is fine. We hit send (direct) and we get the error message that the email has been sent to the Queue without an address.(there is definately one in the invoice setup tab for the customer)
We look in the queue & it is there, if we add an address it will send.
I repeat the statements work fine.
Suggestions????

Do the e-mail addresses show up on the bill-to/ship-to tab when the invoice is created? What version of OrderEntry?

Unlike Statements in AR, OE invoices do not use the email addresses stored on the customer, but rather what is saved on the invoice itself. This means that older invoices posted without an email address cannot be emailed - unless sent to the email queue, where it can be edited for an address.

This is what Andrew alluded to with his first comment.

we were using older ones to test the process.

Hi Bruce,

Posted invoices cannot be edited. Old invoices were created before the email address was available. This field is therefor blank.

Invoices are different from statements in that they generate accounting entries. Statements may be printed at any time, and thus retrieve the necessary e-mail address from the customer master. For invoices, you might want to know who you e-mailed the invoice to.

At least that is our reasoning.

Enjoy the weekend!
