I recently closed the Year end(did backup in ledger before closing)and changed the fiscal year(did another backup before changing fiscal year ); However, for some reason, I need going back! How Can I restore the backup to the previous year(ledger only) before closing? I know the restore would overwrite my current data, but I have it archived, is that ok? Urgent!! Thanks for the answer and help

You should do a current backup of your GL data then delete all your GL data files before doing the restore. You then can unzip the GL files from the zip file you wish to restore. Depending on why you need to "go back" you might be better of restoring the data to a different folder. There is no way for anyone to be able to say it is "OK" without discussing what has been done since the closing and what it is that you are trying to accomplish. I suggest you contact your Adagio partner for support on this issue.

Thanks Michael, thanks very much!!! let me think of it ...... the reason I want to be back is that... need printing of 'detail listing' for all accounts before closing, and our accountant is going to make some more adjustment to past year...

You should restore the data to another folder. Then you can access both the current year and previous year.

Accountant's adjustments can be posted to the current data using the "post to prior year" function; that way you can carry on with the "real world" while waiting for the adjustments.

You should also find an Adagio consultant in your area, or if you already have one, get a new one. Anyone who isn't aware that you can keep old GL's open simply by copying them to another folder prior to performing year-end needs better advice than what he/she is getting.
