A client has lots of special prices, and is complaining that when they want to change an item they have to look up (F5) the customer and then use the mouse or arrow key to scroll down to the item, which might be waaay down the list.

Is there a way to punch in the customer and item and have it jump to that record?

While I'm at it, can filters be built for Special Prices?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,
I'm assuming that you have some reason for not using the Alt Pricelist in Inventory.

To my knowledge, we have no sites using the OE special pricing in most of their daily distribution operations. (And we have a lot of distribution client sites (still)). We have always found the OE Special pricing difficult to use and maintain. As such doesn't qualify for any best practices configuration options.

Best,
Brian

I did a custom mod for a client back in 2007 to improve special price maintenance. Sadly, those changes never made it into the shipping product. Since there could be 1000s of prices, you need to be able to make mass changes, like price adjustments, deletion and copying. Filtering would be another straightforward improvement. I guess you could do an export/import and make your changes elsewhere.

Brian:

When you are the first responder to a post, you should take special care to answer it and not question it’s validity. This is because the assumption is that posts with replies do not need as urgent a response as one without replies.

Can I please ask Softrak to chime in. Special Price functionality has its purpose separate from Alternate Price List functionality, although I concede that APL is usually more useful.
