Wherever there is a master table in Adagio - for example customers, vendors, items, prospects and GL accounts - one can enter notes, both date-stamped and "additional comments".

It's possible to import date-stamped notes from Excel for customers, prospects and GL accounts, but not for vendors or items.

Why not vendors or items?

Has anyone discovered a workaround for bringing vendor or item notes in, maybe using GridView RW?

Is there a way to bring in "additional comments"?

Very unfortunate that Softrak hasn't yet added Note import for Vendors or Items when it has existed for some time in the other modules.

I've done some database repairs on the Notes (though it's been a couple of year) using GV-RW. Not positive but I'm fairly certain that at some point in the past I've also used GV-RW to add new notes.

The trick is to figure out the Header and Details relate and how Note Key & Line Numbers are assigned. For a one time import with GV-RW this shouldn't be too big of a challenge but definitely not a solution for end users who are looking for a solution to import notes on a regular basis.

I don't recall having ever do anything with the Additional Comments but they are in the Note Details with a Note Key of ######000000 and a sequential line number. Use GV-RW requires that you figure out the next line number to use.
