So I'm trying to create a new filter for our Customer List, but every time I create a new filter (or copy and rename an old one), it always shows a "Count" of 0. I don't understand how I can copy another one exactly and it has customers showing on it, but the new one doesn't.

I've tried changing every setting I can think of, but any new filter I make has a 0 count.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong!

Hello Holiday,

After you create your new Customer filter, you need to Apply it to Customers.

There are 3 ways to do this:
1. From the Grid Filters List, choose the 'Apply Styles' button.

2. From the Customer View or Customer Edit, choose your new Filter and then the 'Refresh Scan' button next to the Filter Description.

3. From the Maintenance menu, choose the 'Apply Styles' function.

Thank you, that part is working now!

My other trouble is that I can't seem to figure out how to get the Notes field to show. I want to be able to export the notes with the customer information.

I should specify that I can export the Customer Notes, but I'd like to be able to export other customer data in the same spreadsheet, with filters in place. Is this doable?

Hi Holiday,

Customer notes are in a data file separate to the customer list. Therefore you won't be able to put a note onto the customer grid, with or without filters. Is this what you are looking to do with notes and exporting?

I believe it would be possible to create a GridView workspace to create a list of customers that meet filter criteria, and also include a calculated column that outputs a specific portion of the Note text, which could be in the Additional Comments section or the notes that have date and user information. Though the Additional Comments would be easier to include. then the view can be exported to Excel from there. This is something your Adagio consultant could assist you with if necessary.

Okay. It's too bad that there isn't at least an option to add the Name field to the Customer Notes export. That would massively simplify matters. Or if there were a field that numbers the comments instead of the lines inside a comment.

We've realized that using the Notes field isn't making the information we've put there accessible the way we need it to be. We'd be open to moving that information to a different field that is more accessible, but given that there are multiple notes and we don't need all of them, it's looking like it will be a complicated undertaking to move what we need.

Hello Holiday,

I will add your suggestion for additional fields in the Customer Notes Export to the wishlist for a future release.

Hello Holiday,

In the Receivables 9.3B (2022.07.08) Upgrade just released, this change has been made:
Export Customer Notes now has two new fields available to export, the Customer Name to make it easier to identify who the note belongs to, and a Note Number generated during the export to group note lines together.
