Hi
I am having a problem with A.Invoices running and I am getting Error 1212 invalid Path to DICTIONARY.
Our ADAGIO AR and GL run just fine. They are all installed in the same drive and Softrak folder. The version of Invoices is 8.0 and there is a \SOFRAK\DICT\@I80AI.ss1 and @I80AR.ssi files.

What else am I missing?

I solved Dave's problem by emailing him my DICT folder. This is the same solution I had for a client who had the same message after installing the eval version of Adagio OrderEntry a couple of weeks ago. Something is obviously wrong with the install procedure. I am hypothesizing that the error occurs when Adagio Inventory is not installed - Dave could you confirm whether that was the case in your situation.

Dear Softrak

There is something definitely wrong with your latest installation procedures. Another recent installer just emailed me to complain that he got the same error message as Dave and me, this time while installing Adagio Inventory 8.0B (060320).

I will email him my \DICT folder just to make him happy, but this is a workaround, not a solution. You need to find out what is going wrong that is causing the \DICT folder not to be updated properly.

Hi Steve,

The file INSTALL.TXT is written to during installation when shared program files are installed, such as dictionaries. It is stored in the program directory (ie \softrak\icwin for Adagio Inventory), which means there is a separate INSTALL.TXT for each Adagio application. This file indicates whether each dictionary file overwrote the existing file or not.

You may want to check the INSTALL.TXT file to determine if a particular dictionary file was over-written or not. As per usual Windows installations, files with a later date are not over-written. If a file was replaced, it will have been saved in the \backup directory, such as \softrak\icwin\backup for an Inventory installation, if you chose the backup option during the install.

An error 1212 indicates a missing or out of date dictionary file. It could also mean that one dictionary of the paired set is missing.

This thread is talking about 3 different installations (Invoices, OE and IC), so the problem may be similar, but it isn't 3 reports of the same situation.
