This morning, I noticed that our pricing on Order Entry is marking up from "recent cost". We have had this set up to mark up from "standard cost". I don't know why it has changed (I installed the service pack for O/E 8.0A (060411) the other day)
This was set up back when we had Accpac Plus and I can't find where you choose which cost is used for mark up.
Maybe it's becuase of the service pack but I didn't notice it until now. Do you think?

Diane

Hi Diane,

There are no options to markup from either the most recent or standard cost. Order Entry will always markup from the Standard Cost (if no price list is used) or the Markup cost (if alternate pricing is used.

We did make a change in the most recent service pack to correct an issue where the pricing based on markup is now selected by default, even if it happens to be larger than the base price. We also made some changes as to default pricing if entering an item that does not exist on a price list, yet that price list is set on the order.

We'll need more information on this. When entering an order, is there a value in the Price List field on the Header screen? Do you use alternate pricing and if so, does the item exist on that list? It may be that either the master or alternate price list has the standard and most recent costs the same, meaning it appears that most recent cost is being used to markup when in fact this isn't the case.

Hi Diane,

I took a closer look and indeed you are correct for Markup behaviour when a Price List is not used - the markup is incorrectly based on the most recent cost rather than the Standard Cost. If a Price List happened to be used, then the markup works as expected.

We'll have to fix this - thanks for finding it and your patience as we correct the problem.

Just wondering if you have any idea how long it usually takes to correct something like this? Can you direct me to where I originally choose to markup from standard pricing? Maybe I can go in and manually correct some of our main selling inventory items until there is a repair?
