I am trying to convert my payable cheques so that I can use blank stock. Which sample do you suggest I use so that I am using the new CPA standard formatting? We are a Canadian company, canadian dollar cheques, with an advice/cheque/advice format.

Does the service pack that has just been released have any updates to the cheque specification as I have not downloaded it yet?

Thanks
Tracy

Hi Tracy Mc G,

The latest Service Pack to Adagio Payables contains specification codes and some graphics to enable printing of CPA compliant cheques on blank cheque stock. In addition, it includes a couple of sample cheques that you might want to use rather than trying to convert your existing specifications. You will not be able to use the currently shipping release as it is missing some of the required date formats.

The latest version also allows you to pick up the bank name and address from the bank file, so you can use a single cheque specification for all your cheque printing requirements.

Great, I will download that service pack tonite. Just to confirm, when you mention that I will not be able to use the currently shipping release, you mean the version that I am currently using. So once install the service pack I will be good to go, right?

Thanks

Can you tell me the difference between the different samles. I see CPA 01 and 02 and assume that this is up to standard but then I see WS02 and it has the words "pay to the order" etc. So if I am using blank stock, which sample should I use?
Thanks

Hello Tracy Mc G,

From the Release note:

quote:

Added a menu choice 'Open Template' to the File menu in the designer. This function provides a list the template specification files shipped with Payables. The templates can be opened, modified as needed and saved as a specification with your company database. The templates include 2 new CPA Standard 006 compliant check specification files: Sample Check CPA (AP$CPA01) for regular business cheques and Sample Check CPA Blank Date (AP$CPA02) for printing blank cheque stock (including the date convenience boxes). Both specifications are designed to match the Wellspring check stock available from Softrak Systems. These check specifications can also be modified or used as a starting point to design a specification to match your existing check stock. The sample data also includes these check specifications.

You'd use the CPA 02 specification for printing out a blank cheque (for someone to hand write if they didn't know the amount before a shopping expedition).
