The first thing I would do is uninstall Adagio from every workstation and install it on the server to guarantee that everyone is running exactly the same version.

As Aurea said, this is a PSR. They’re an accounting firm that likely has Adagio installed on their laptops so that they can work with clients/potential clients in the field. Having a central install likely doesn’t work for them. I doubt that is the issue since I had a similar setup at BDO.

OK, now I understand why files are being restored frequently.

Try this:
-Go to the command prompt through Windows
-Change to the drive and directory where the data files are located
-Type: ATTRIB -R *.XXX and press [Enter] (where you must replace XXX with the correct file extension)
-Type EXIT and press [Enter] to return to Windows desktop

That should remove the read-only flag.

I also have all Adagio installed on my laptop. But when I am accessing data on our network I use a shortcut that launches the Adagio that is installed on our network. I NEVER (ok, hardly ever) launch a local copy and point at data on our network.

I have two Folders of shortcuts. One that launches my local install, and one that launches from the network \Softrak Folder.

When I flag all the GL files as Read-Only, Ledger fails to open with a series of error messages that begins with a 1013 error and a failure to open GLGLOB. It doesn't have any problem "finding" the files.

Compare the names of the files in the Folder with the GL files in the sample data. What files are missing?

When you restore an old backup of the GL data, do you delete all the GL files in the target Folder before doing the restore?
