I am unable to install APSPP20051122. When I attempt to do so I get the message that my existing version of AP is too old for this service pack. I am using version 6.8B(050112) and have never had a problem installing updates before. ann.mks@telus.net

Hi Anneli,

Adagio service packs are only installable on top of programs with the same version number. The most current service pack for Adagio Payables is for the version 8.0A of Adagio Payable. This means that before you can install this service pack, you need to first install the initial 8.0A upgrade - using the link from the email sent to customers on a current support plan. Your company is, and the email was sent on Oct 19, 2005. If you don't have that email then contact Customer Service to resend the email to get the upgrade link and your specific installation codes.

Thank you. I found the email about AP 8.0A(2005.10.24) in our general office email box. However, I do not see it listed on your Service Pack Downloads list so I am still not sure how to install it.

Hi Anneli,

The 'Upgrade' installation differs somewhat from a 'Service Pack' installation. The main difference is that an 'Upgrade' install requires an install code and serial number, whereas service packs simply require a password to run the EXE. Upgrades are the first release of an Adagio application where the version number changes (such as 6.8B to 8.0A); typically there are a number of new features and enhancements included in an upgrade, where a service pack usually has minor enhancements and program fixes.

Upgrades are not downloadable from the web, and Service Packs are. To install an Upgrade, you need to use the link on that email you receive to do the download the Upgrade. I believe the format of the downloaded file is a ZIP file, which needs to have the contents extracted with WinZip or the Windows XP extraction tool before you can use it. Within the email should also contain the serial number and install code you need to install the Upgrade.

Upgrades are a little different because only customers like you who have subscribed to the Upgrades Support Plan can get Upgrade notices.

If you still are having problems, let us or your Business Partner know.
