I am having a problem when I try to enter an amount of time worked of less than 1...i know it is not my keyboard because i have no problem typing ".1" ".2", ".3", etc in other programs but for some reason i have to go back over and retype the .1, .2 or .3, etc. 2 of 3 times before it takes it. Any suggestions

I just found out that I am able to enter it as 0.1 or 0.2 or 0.3 but i never had to do that before.

Hi Sherri,

With the current shipping version of Adagio Time&Billing (and time entry method set to 'hours'), I am able to type .1 for a new time entry and when I tab from the field, it leaves behind 0.1 hours, which I believe is correct. There aren't any options or settings for how to enter hours less than 1, so this shouldn't behave any differently. Which field are you typing into (time entry, bill entry, somewhere else)?

Did anything change recently (install Windows updates, change Windows regional settings, etc)?

I am entering it in the "hours" box of time entry and in firm profile it is set to "hours". As I mentioned in my question, the only change was loading the software onto my new computer. But i still can't enter just .1 or .2 or .3. It now has to be 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 which is very time consuming and difficult

Hi Sherri,

Yeah, I'd agree that having to prefix the decimal number with a zero each time can be annoying. Except that I can't duplicate this, so there is something else happening. I haven't seen this before.

Does the same problem exist when typing in other amount or unit fields? It might point towards something set up in Windows that doesn't like leaving the zero untyped, though this really doesn't make sense. That it's a new computer means that not everything will have the same setup as before (in the Windows sense).

I tried looking at the Windows regional settings options on an XP workstation, and I didn't see anything helpful there.

I will look at some of the settings and see if there is something different. Another goofy thing that is happening is when I go to enter the client and then the matter i can't enter the matter unless i go past the field and come back into it...when i tab to that field it highlights the box for a lookup rather than putting the cursor in the box to type the matter no. Any ideas?

Hi Sherri,

I believe I've seen the second part you've mentioned - with typing in the client and tabbing to the matter, and the cursor isn't visible. If it's the same as what I've seen on my Windows XP station, then you should be able to type the matter code in anyway, even when you don't see the cursor flashing.

If not, then let us know the behaviour you see - perhaps it's not the same if the finder on the matter field is popping up when you tab to it.

No, it will not let me type over the matter that is currently in the box (unless I have changed client numbers, then it will). So, i have to either go back and forth in and out of the box or put the cursor there myself before it will allow me to enter the matter no. and that has never happened to me before. Hope this helps.
