Exclude Adagio program files and data files from Virus checking. Make sure you include files on both workstation and server in the exclusions.

Adagio opens many files for each function. Checking for viruses is not necessary and dramatically slows performance.

My 2 cents...

I would just add that the "Accounting Program and Data file" exclusions should be from "real-time" (I believe McAfee calls it ActiveShield or something like that) scanning only. It would still be a good idea to include all files on the scheduled scans that run in the wee hours when everyone is hopefully sleeping.

Pete,

I totally agree.

Whenever I set these exclusions in real-time scanning, I also make sure a regularly scheduled full system scan will be run that includes all files.
