One of our clients encountered something unusual today. In the Payables Profile, the interface to Job Cost was set to "None". It has always been "ACCPAC Plus Job Cost".

The problem, once identified, was easily corrected but they are wondering what happened. Of the 3 users, one was away for the week and the other 2 have no have rights to the Payables Profile.

Are there any circumstances under which Payables will automatically change the Job Cost interface on its' own?

Payables 6.8 (050112) / Ledger 8.0C / AR 8.0A (050412)/ ACCPAC Plus Job Cost 6.X / ACCPAC Plus Payroll

Was a service pack recently installed, and if so, when? This setting will not get changed 'spontaneously', but if a recent service pack was installed, the JC integration field was expanded to include Adagio JobCost in addition to Accpac Job Cost. It may be that the integration flag was mis-interpreted - something that we've heard of but in a far minority of cases...

No, the Payables SP is 050112 which I installed back in the Spring. They say that no updates have been installed and I believe them.

I was wondering if, for instance, logic is built into the Payables start-up so that it looks for the existence of JC files and, if missing, changes the interface. Having said that, it appears that the appropriate files were always in place. Could there be any similar logic involved?

Since they are still using ACCPAC Plus JC and PR, the change could have come from that direction I suppose.
