Every day my Data Integrity Check on the GL shows two unrebuildable errors and tells me to restore from backup. I then open AP and check it, all good... then reopen the GL and everything's fine... no errors... does this seem legit?

Hugh:

Something isn't right. The only way I can troubleshoot the problem is if I could see the data which isn't possible in this forum.

You should contact your Adagio dealer to take a look.

Hi Hugh,

Doesn't the DIC say that the errors were that were found? Since this is being run every day, are you reporting from DataCare or the DIC in Adagio Ledger?

And to be clear, you're saying the if you run the DIC in Ledger it reports two unfixable errors. Then you run the DIC in Payables and it is clean. Then if you immediately re-run the DIC in Ledger it is clean?

Sounds like a failing network card or other hardware problem.

DIC (I don't know what DataCare is laugh )
Yes, the sequence Andrew describes is correct, although I don't think the clean DIC post-reloading of the GL is dependent on the AP DIC, that's just the pattern I'm using to avoid retyping my password for each module load.
My IT guy says everything's in order so I'm reluctant to pay another $700 for the privilege of having the vendor and my IT guy each saying it's the other party's problem...
Starting to think about the cloud when renewal time comes around...

OK - so what is the specific error it is complaining about?

Also - you're saying that if you run the DIC over and over again, it sometimes reports and error and it sometimes doesn't? You IT guy needs to explain how the same program faced with the same data reports different results without there being an intermittent hardware problem.

To see whether it is somewhere in your network, copy your data to your local drive C: and run the DIC on the local copy. See if you can get the data to fail there.

Hugh,

in your post above what is above the lines:
>>Application Integrity Phase ... 2 error(s) found
>>Finished at: 2016.11.30 17:08:50

That is where the description of the errors should be.

ya, the trouble shooting is problematic as merely closing and opening the GL "fixes" the problem so if I copy the files to the local drive and try again I wouldn't expect to see the problem anyway... hmmm...

Here are the errors:

Next posted transaction unquifier 281,254 is lower than found in transaction file 281,342
Next posting sequence 682 is lower than found in posting journal 683

And confirmed that any old restart of the GL will fix the problem, doesn't matter that it's reopened via the AP module.

(sigh)
