We are currently using 6 digets to define our department codes in order to facilitate greater reporting flexibility.

the six digets codes (123456) break down as follows:

Digets 123 = department
Digets 45 = funding source
Diget 6 = portfolio

Generally for larger departments I have allocated a block of codes from say 700??? to 799???. However it may be that I want to report on a sub-set of this block separately, say for example from department 720??? to 749???.

I am using department masks to report the overall department group from 700??? to 799??? by entering the mask 7?????. However, how would I set a department mask to include only those departments falling into the 720??? to 749??? range.

When in the Department View multi select the range of Departments you want (720000 to 749000 for example) Right Button | Create Departmental Range.
