This may be elementary, however, the update now allows us to mark how a purchase is made (cheque/ cash/credit card) on the payment screen. Where do I go and set up these so they will show up in the scroll down?

Hi KEMLTD,

The Payment Methods records are set up in Adagio Receivables 8.0A (the version where this was introduced). You can include different credit cards (Visa, MC, Amex, etc), in addition to Cash, Cheques or a number of different payment methods.

Also on the customer record (in Edit Customers), you can assign up to 2 credit cards (from the list of credit cards you create within Payment Methods), including the CC number, name and expiry. This information is encrypted in the data file to prevent unauthorized access. Within OrderEntry, when you select a credit card that has been set up for the customer, their CC information gets brought over.

Note that even if you use a credit card as a payment method, you still need to enter a value into the 'check number' field. This is to keep transactions unique and more 'trackable'.
---
For others reading this, you are required to have installed version 8.0A for both Adagio Receivables and Adagio OrderEntry in order to select credit card information from the payment area of OrderEntry.

Thanks! I knew it had to be there somewhere! Also, thank you for the tip on the credit card info. We do have customers that pay by card and we have to ask for the information each time.

Very helpful!

I'm sorry, but I have gone through A/R/ and still can't find where to set this up. I can only find where we can "edit control account sets" but that is a separate entry in the "Payment" window in O/E. I'm can find anything for the "Payment method"

Hi KEMLTD,

If you are running Adagio Receivables 8.0A, then under the Edit menu, the last choice is Payment Methods. From here you 'create' the credit cards and other possible methods (cash, cheque, etc).

Then edit a customer and a new tab called Credit Card will be available to select. Choose any of the 'payment methods' you just created, and also include the credit card information.

When you are in Adagio OrderEntry 8.0A and click the Payment field to assign a payment, the first field will be Payment method, and the drop-down shows all the Payment methods created in Receivables. The bottom two rows on the OE Payment screen are credit card number, expiry and name. These fields can be typed into, or read from the customer record if the credit card information is kept.

None of the above will appear if you have not installed both of the 8.0A upgrades for Adagio Receivables and OrderEntry.

I see it now under the "Edit", however it is only grey. (also the email cover sheets selection). I can't click on either of them. Do I have to enable it somewhere? I am running A/R 8.0A 050412 and O/E 8.0A 050530.

Thanks again
Diane

If you see the Payment Methods menu choice, then you are running a supported version.

Likely the situation is that you are logged into Adagio Receivables as a user belonging to a security group that doesn't have access to that function. If you have the rights in Adagio to modify security groups, then you should do so for those groups to allow access to Payment Methods. (File, Edit Groups).

The same scenario is likely for email cover sheets - security and access needs to be enabled.
