Hello, I'm trying to convert some old crystal reports for Adagio files and have installed ODBC on my PC. Here is the environment: Windows 8.1, 64 bit Adagio ODBC v2 - 20151027 I can create a new Adagio System DSN and it seems to work - in that I don't get any errors. However, when I use Excel to try to connect to sample data or my client's live data, I get the following error: Unable to obtain list of tables from the data source. I've been spinning my wheels all afternoon and even asked a colleague to take a look and he could not figure it out either. I did try reinstalling to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Carol Openhym

An update. After 3 hours of wasted time and spinning wheels, I gave up on getting ODBC to work on my Windows 8.1 PC If I get suggestions on this thread, I'll continue trying to get that to work.
In the meantime, I tried installing it on my hosted Windows 2008 server and was able to connect to data tables in Excel and Crystal Reports. .
What I'm trying to do here is to convert a handful of old Crystal Reports. When I run the report converter, I now get this error message:
Converting report <ARM New Cost Report BRK4a with GC.rpt> 7/19/2016 4:20:25 PM: (Error) Report <ARM New Cost Report BRK4a with GC.rpt> failed to convert: <Error: Missing method 'instance class CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.SubreportController [ReportConvertor] CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.ISCDReportClientDocument::get_SubreportController()' from class 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportClientDocumentWrapper'.> 7/19/2016 4:20:25 PM: (Error)
UGH.
Ideas?

Yeah, thanks, I did. As an update, I did get the ODBC to work on my hosted Windows 2008 server. (See my reply to my original message) but never on my Windows 8.1 PC. So, the good news is that on the 2008 box, I can connect to ODBC thru Crystal or Excel. However, I still cannot convert my crystal reports using the conversion tool.I am getting this error:
Converting report <ARM New Cost Report BRK4a with GC.rpt> 7/19/2016 4:20:25 PM: (Error) Report <ARM New Cost Report BRK4a with GC.rpt> failed to convert: <Error: Missing method 'instance class CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.SubreportController [ReportConvertor] CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.ISCDReportClientDocument::get_SubreportController()' from class 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportClientDocumentWrapper'.> 7/19/2016 4:20:25 PM: (Error)

Hi Brian, I spoke to Warren yesterday and we were both stumped. It was very weird -- and VERY annoying! We never got ODBC to work on my local PC. I tried reinstalling to no avail.
As for Windows 10, I got the forced upgrade back in May and it screwed up so much on my laptop that I rolled back. It would not recognize my second monitor, broke my MS SQL Server, and didn't recognize my network. After spending a day and a half getting it to work, I thought we were ok - but on Monday morning, no network, no duel monitor, the reinstalled MS SQL was no longer working.
As for the three hours, yeah, I've been following your adventures on the forum and count myself lucky that I still had a work around - which is to have her print the reports from the old Crystal Reports for Windows.
I'll give Warren another call and perhaps I can have him do the migration. It kind of ticks me off that I was unable to get it to work myself however, especially since I've done this before!
Carol
