Hello,

How can I put in the company name in the header/footer of the GridView, base on the company database I'm logon to?

I use the $Q but nothing shows up. I think I'm missing a step.

Hi, Marlon,

Yes, $Q prints the Company Name but you need to do a little more than just use the code in the Header/Footer. GV reads the contents of the first row of a calculated column that reports the Company Name in the Company Profile.

Use GETLINKEDVALUE to link the information to the view you want the Company Name to display with $Q in the Header/Footer. You can hide the column in the view if you like.

Hello Support,

I have a GridView ICITEM'R viewing, now I want to add the company name in the header/footer. So, I added a calculated field GetLinkedValue("@N92AGLBCRVIEW", "Company name", 0) and placed it at the first column of my view. The calculated field have a result but it still do not show on the header/footer.

Do I have to add a parameter on $Q? If so, can you please show me how it should be written?

Marlon

Hi Marlon,

I've attached a Receivables Workspace that demonstrates how to get the company name in the footer, since it's easier to send you an example than to explain.

As an aside, you should not use the CRVIEW tables to create GridView Views. These are the tables used by Crystal Reports and will be hidden in the next release of GridView. They are discussed in the Release Notes for the 9.2 versions of the applications.

Hello Andrew,

Thank you. Your example is exactly what I did before I posted the question in the forum. With your example, I found out what the error I made. I put a space between the code and parameter (eg. $Q {Parameter}) which I didn't think that it will make a difference.

Probably the manual and help guide should have a note that states no spaces between Code and Parameter ($Q{Parameter}).

Thanks for the reminder on do not use the table that end with "CRVIEW".

Marlon
