I am trying to print an Inventory Transaction History report (using Crystal Reports) for a specific Vendor. I am curently getting a list of all inventory items in the date range.
It was working just fine yesterday and then stopped working. I am not sure what caused the problem or how to fix it.
The end goal that I am trying to achieve is to get the total sales for a variety of years for selected vendors. If there is a better way of doing this please let me know that too!

Thank you,

Samantha

Sales or purchases? Customers or Vendors?

Looking to see what we have sold to customers.
I would like to see by vendor (i.e. we received product from Melissa & Doug and would like to see how much was sold to customers in general in a calendar year).

Is there a one-to-one correspondence between item numbers and suppliers (vendors)? Inventory records the vendor (supplier) on a receipt, and the customer on a shipment.

We have added the supplier to the items when we created the item number. I originally thought it was the one supplier and checked some of the items that we receive from them and we have added the vendor number under the vendor option.
I then tried checking a couple of suppliers to see if it was an issue with just the one vendor number, but they were all causing the same problem this morning.

Inventory is 9.2A (150515)
I don't know where to find what version of Crystal Reports we are using.

If it helps, it appears that the report is not differentiating between customer number and vendor number (or they are somehow confused).

When I try to sort by vendor number (and only put in one specific vendor number), the report pulls up the customer number for our retail store, and maybe a few random vendor numbers are tossed into the report at the end.
When I try to sort by customer number (and put in one specific customer number), the report again pulls up a mix of items for both our retail customer number and vendor numbers. These results are intermixed, not seperated.
If I try to sort by customer number (and put in one specific vendor number), the report will pull up information for a variety of vendor numbers but no customer numbers.

Hi Samantha,

This might be much easier to generate/debug using GridView (which you have).

The IC transaction history file will not have a Vendor Code for Shipment transactions (sales). It will have a Customer code. Receipts have Vendor codes associated with them. You will have to link the shipment transactions to the inventory item master to look up the vendor for the item. All sales of an item will be associated with a single vendor (the one on the item file currently), regardless of who the vendor was when the item was sold.

I've added a GridView workspace that would be a start to getting the information you need.

Edit Reason: Added Workspace

Thank you Andrew.

I appreciate all the help. I'm not sure how to get the workspace that you've attached to work. When I try to open the files It just opens Microsoft office but doesn't give me anything other than the icon for the program in the middle of the page. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or if it is just that we don't have a new enough version of windows?
