It's Karen, not Kate

We inadvertently entered a manager with the wrong code- states the incorrect code is still used in 4 jobs/phases, but we can't find the jobs that are incorrect to change them. Ran a job summary for current, closed and archived jobs....nothing. Ran several Gridview Reports, still nothing. Any suggestions to find the culprits and make changes?

Thanks so much,
Karen

Hi Karen,

If you want to search your jobs for a particular manager code, the easy way is to use the SmartFinder on the job field.

  • Bring up the Edit Jobs screen and click the Find button.
  • Press F6 to bring up the SmartFinder screen.
  • Double-click on the grid title to open the grid Column Editor.
  • Select Mgr Code from the left, and click the right arrow to add Manager to the grid.
  • Now you can search the jobs file based on the Manager code.

The column editor is active on virtually every grid in Adagio. If double-click the grid title bar does not bring up the column editor, you need to enable it for the user (File / User Setup).

That's a great way to look up information, and I use the column editor all the time. However, that's not the problem I'm facing. Using the finder, and all the means I mentioned in my first post, I can't find the jobs that are linked to the manager in question. It's as if there are no jobs linked to the manager, but I can't delete the manager because it states that there are in fact jobs linked to him.

Thanks,
Karen

Karen:

This sounds like a good situation for GridView. Sort the table by the Manager code and look for the code in question.

Hi Kate Spontak,

Does the integrity check report any problems?

How about in the Assign Manager/Dates/Prices function? You can assign a Manager to a particular Phase, different than the job. You can use the Find function and the SmartFinder search similar as for jobs.

Using GridView, it's the Phase Summary data file.

Andrew,

Yes, integrity check finds those problems.

Bruce,

That's what we were doing, but now that the jobs are corrected, there are still instances of those incorrect "managers"

Tech Support,

Thanks, that was what we needed - the name of the file to use in Gridview. We did find them in the Assign Managers/Dates/Prices function. Once assigned to the job, the manager carried to all phases, so we had to clear them out here as well.
