A client who commonly uses the edit invoices function in OrderEntry to edit certain fields in posted invoices is wondering why the same function is not available in Receivables. In particular, they would like to be edit the Reference and Description fields.
Honestly, what would be the harm (with proper authorization)?

I could but they don't even own GridView, let alone GV RW. It's hard to justify paying $3,600.
There wasn't a tradition in OrderEntry until you changed the model. Maybe that could be the new model. You also changed the model when you allowed editing of invoice due dates.

The Toolkit for Adagio includes functions for editing AR and AP Posted Transactions. There is protection against editing critical accounting fields. There's also a detailed audit trail of changes.
I agree, and we may get to a more relaxed model in the other modules "in the fullness of time". It's just a pretty significant amount of work, and hasn't been widely requested.

Two weeks ago I had a client make exactly the same request as did Steve's client, except in reference to Ledger data. I told him about the Adagio Toolkit component from Bob. His enthusiasm waned when he realized it was an additional cost.
