Last month I upgraded to both A/R & A.P 9.2A and recently ran the Print/Consolidate G/L Transactions report for both. Sort Order is by Account and in both cases, accounts were out of order and even split into two parts and not following each other. Has anyone noticed this problem, or know what would cause this to happen for the first time since I have been using Adadio (many years ago)?

To the best of our knowledge, we have not received an indication that the GL Transactions report has been sorted out of order, apart from what you have indicated in this post. I cannot duplicate a problem in sample data.

The 9.2A Adagio releases use a completely updated Crystal reporting structure, and I have seen in various cases during development that records on reports have not sorted as expected. We fixed most/all of these before shipping, but even though I cannot duplicate a problem, perhaps your data is structure in such a way that a problem is occurring for a particular situation.

I have a few questions:
- When you print the G/L Transactions report from either A/R or A/P, do you ever choose to Consolidate the transaction prior to retreival into Ledger and then print again? Just to try and isolate whether a problem has to do with the reporting portion or the consolidation portion.
- Is this the Detail or Summary version of the report, or both?
- Does your chart of accounts follow a strict coding pattern, or could your accounts have differing amount of characters? Perhaps different account lengths is needed to show a problem.
- When accounts are 'out of order and even split into two parts', is there any pattern evident for the accounts in each group, such as the account length?

If this problem continues to occur, you probably will need to get your Adagio consultant involved.

When I print the G/L Transactions, I do not choose to Consolidate into the Ledger and I print the Detail version of the report.

The chart of accounts has all accounts with the same amount of characters, but some also have various department numbers. I have just reviewed the reports and now notice that the accounts without department numbers are in order, then it starts over again listing the accounts with department numbers. I also found that both the Invoice & Payables Invoice Posting Journals are doing the same thing. This did not occur before I upgraded the A/R & A/P, so it appears that is where the problem begins. Think this is a flaw - I'm sure others have accounts with different departments.

Hi Karen,

Thank you for the description of what is happening and the actual sorting results. Indeed I am now able to replicate this, where the report appears to be sort primarily by the Department code rather than the Account code. Sample data is set up with the non-departmentalized accounts (balance sheet) with lower account codes, so it wouldn't have displayed this issue.

I can write this up for development to be fixed for a future service pack. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
