I wasn't sure where to put this question but here goes.

Is it possible to have a separate exchange rate used just for selling items?

The client would like to have all purchases through IC, all payments through AP for all it's EC clients to remain at an exchange rate of 2.6882 however when selling through OE they would like the rate to be at 2.7.

I created a new rate type and currency table and then a new exchange rate with the new rate type, however, I tried changed the rate type in the profile for OE and it wouldn't let me change it.

I need to know if what the client wants is possible and how to go about doing it, if it is possible. I want to test it out before the client does anything and corrupts their data.

You can have a separate rate type for OE. Not sure why you can't change the rate type, as far as I know there are no circumstances that would prevent it. I just tested on a MC database that had invoices not run through Day End.

I know where I went wrong. I tested it out by creating the new rates then changing the control account set in AR to the new exchange rate. It works find and doesn't interfere with Inventory or Payables.
