Hello,

Minor stuff. Whenever I preview a report and print to AdagioPDF it gives a footer message: "You created this PDF from an application that is not licensed to print to novaPDF printer (http://www.novapdf.com)" to every page.

But if I print directly without previewing the report, it creates the PDF fine.

Is there something I can do to remove this footer message?

Marlon

Hi Marlon,

The AdagioPDF driver is licensed only to print from Adagio. If you use it to print from other applications (in this case Adobe Reader), that is an unlicensed use (hence the footer).

What I do is turn on paperless printing under File | User Preferences with the PDF opened after printing. Then I print every report to PDF and open the PDF to View. If I want a printed copy, I send it to the printer from the reader.

Hi Andrew,

I should have mention that this happens within Adagio Reports. The footer only appears if I preview the report first before printing it to AdagioPDF. But if I print directly to AdagioPDF without previewing the report, it is fine.

Hi Marlon,

Yes, I see the same behaviour, say in Adagio Receivables 9.2A. I wonder if when previewing the report and then printing from there, that print function is actually being launched by the Crystal Reports runtime process and has escaped the Adagio layer, thus NovaPDF no longer recognizes the Adagio connection and thus displays the unlicensed message at the bottom. This cannot be changed to remove the message at the bottom.

I think what Andrew is trying to say is that in order to not get that message, don't print to the AdagioPDF driver from the print preview window but find a different way. For example, you could the Setup button on the report screen to select the AdagioPDF printer driver, and click Print from there, rather than from the Preview process.

Do you use Adagio ePrint? This will allow defining report names and save locations automatically, rather than having to edit the NovaPDF print screen every time to determine the save location and name. It will make this process a whole lot more seamless if you regularly print reports to PDF, especially from Report Sets.

Hello Support,

No, currently I do not have ePrint but will keep that in mind.

Thanks for the input.
