Hello pjo,

What version of Adagio Payables are you running (See Help | About)?

Hello pjo,

Early 6.8A versions of Adagio would report this error if a "hint" popped up and the user pressed the Enter key while the hint was displayed.

Certainly it is fixed in the current release of Payables (V6.8B 040506).

Also, if Payables exited abnormally, then a record may be marked in use that isn't actually. Adagio resets all of these statuses if it can when a module is launched (which would explain why the problem "went away").

Hello pjo,

Yes. Hints "pop-up" when a display field is too short to display all the information in a field (such as a name in a grid), whenever the cursor is over the field. This occurs even if the form opens "under" the current cursor position, and so usually appears as "random" behaviour to a user.

Check the Service Pack page to make sure that the last Service Pack (PTF) for 6.8A in installed, or, upgrade to the current release of Payables - there were lots of useful improvements.

Hello pjo,

No, there are no "dialog boxes" or error messages. The "hints" are the same as you see if you "hover" over a toolbar.

Hello pjo,

Have you made certain that opportunistic locking is turned off, both on the server and the workstation? Run softrak\system\chksys.exe to check the setting.

Opportunistic locking must be turned off for Adagio (or any accounting system for that matter) to function correctly. Current versions of Adagio check the setting as they "wake up" and refuse to run if it is incorrectly set.
