I am trying to reconcile my banks and am getting the following message on my screen:

"Unable to lock bank for reconciliation, currently being used by [System Account] in [Reconcile bank 1].

I have already closed all modules and users. Restarted my computer and even had our IT department restart the server during the night all in an attempt to clear this message.

Any ideas?

Which version of BankRec?

Are you logging into BankRec with the user id SYS? Is there any other user logging into any Adagio module with SYS? SYS should not be used as a regular user id. Two or more users should not be sharing the same user id.

With everyone out of Adagio try deleting the x:\data\ezsemtab.dat - when x:\data is your Adagio data directory and *.dat is your Adagio database extension. EZSEMTAB is the file that helps Adagio keep track of who has what open. When you delete it Adagio will create a new one next time you open a module.

That didn't work. There is no one else that uses the SYS id.

It would be helpful to know which version of BankRec you are using.

Did you try deleting the EZSEMTAB file as I suggested.

Rebooting the server should absolutely release any locks (which as Doug points out, are maintained in the EZSEMTAB file). Is there any possibility that there are 2 servers in use and the wrong one was rebooted?

Turned out to be a corrupted connection to the server from her workstation.
