I would like to request that detail comments and instructions be editable on invoices and credit notes.

If you want, I can explain the reason this is important to a client of mine - but I can't think of any negative implications and I can't imagine this would be hard to implement, considering many other fields are editable.

Nothing on detail lines is editable - just (text) fields on the header.

That doesn't change my request, maybe it makes it harder to do than I had envisioned.

It increases the difficulty, which is why it hasn't been done already.
