Your best solution would be to use AR Customer Number Change ($595 I think) to renumber the customer when the owner changes. This way all of the history would be kept and you would be able to reuse the strata lot number for the new owner.

There is also a Windows-based solution called Customer Number Change for Adagio from one of our 3rd Party Developers.
