Problem solved by changing registry entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

EnableLUA should be 0

Disabling UAC is not enough in Window 8.

Did we ever resolve this issue of cycling? I have a client who did an AP update last month and now the workstation update is cycling.

They installed the Update last month and now the workstation update is cycling? I guess we didn't resolve the issue!

Have you don all the things suggested in this thread (including running workstation.exe and sending the results to Rod?

The cycle occurs because Windows reports to the installer that a registry key has been set, when in fact it hasn't. We are still deciding on whether to adopt an alternate strategy to track workstation updates.

Sorry, bad choice of words. I was asking in general if the last post about registry changes was the suggested fix. I will send the worksation info to Rod. Just the info for the affected module I assume?

Hi, Dan,

If you've tried the suggestion in this thread to no avail, run Softrak\System\GetAdagioWorkstationInfo.exe on the problem workstation and send the resulting information to Rod, or send it to me and I'll make sure he gets it.

I emailed the workstation info to Rod last night and have not yet received a response.
But in the meantime, which suggestion from which post? The registry change suggested by Patricia? Or the renaming of the PDF folder? It's not clear which suggestion you're referring to since no one has posted a clear course of action other than broken bits of information.

The client is having this issue with A/P not ePrint. So renaming the PDF folder doesn't make sense to me? And Andrew suggested that doing that "short circuits a process in Adagio". The registry change implies turning off UAC unless there's more to it? But I have lots of clients with UAC running in Windows 8 and don't have this issue. So I'm asking what the Softrak suggestion is other than sending the workstation info to Rod?

Thanks, Dan,

I'm sure Rod will respond as soon as he can. Neither of those suggestions. I was actually referring to my suggestion about the P flag from this thread: http://softrak.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/42886#Post42886

Seems there's more than one post on this topic.

Thank you! I knew there was something else just didn't come up in my search. I did that and the client is back up and running.

Thanks again!
