Hi Tim,

We're glad to be able to add new features that save time and make things easier to do. We're glad you like it!

There already is an option under the File menu called Statement Group Print that allows you to select any or all of your Statement Groups and print them all in one run. Was this what you were looking for, or was there a different feature you were hoping for?

As for the margins, if you are referring to the Page Setup under the File menu, then after making changes to the Margins, you need to click the checkbox at the bottom right called 'Save Settings to Profile'. This will allow your changes to be maintained after closing the report.

Hi Tim,

For your second point, you are correct that those margins in Page Setup are globally defined and not saved with the specification. For this to be changed, your request has been forwarded to development.

As for your request for Statement Group Printing/Opening, perhaps I'm unclear what you are wanting to do. This function is used to Print each statement/sheet within the group, based on the internal settings (ie fiscal period, expand, suppress zeroes, etc). There is no requirement to Open each specification prior to printing.

Were you wanting to be able to open more than one specification simultaneously for editing, rather than just printing the statements? So the end result is that all 15 reports are listed under the Window menu and accessible for editing? Just to clarify what to request of development...

We tracked down the problem that was causing the "lost margins" but we will need to do a new release before it can be formally fixed.

In the meantime you can run RegEdit on your machine and do the following:

Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | Softrak Systems | Financial Reporter | Grid | Margins

Delete the Margins key as this will allow reading the internal page margins saved on the specification sheet.

The problem is cause by the ?Save settings to profile? option so once you have deleted the appropriate registry entry you should not tick that box on the "Page Setup" form.

This applies to the Financial Reporters in both the G/L and FX.

I too find the idea of the statement group great and time-saving except that when I tried it, it opened and printed the statements without updating the numbers to the correct period. It printed the correct period in the header but the figures didn't jive. Am I missing something here?

Also could you have it so you could select the period. Current period doesn't do it for me because I'm usually printing monthly statements in the following month.

Hi bd,

When adding or editing an 'item' within a Statement Group, look at the top-right corner of the window. From here you may select either Current Period or any of the specific fiscal periods. This could take care of your second concern - edit the period for each item.

Perhaps it would be useful on the 'Print Statement Groups' window to have the Fiscal Period drop-down available (like it is in Departmental Print) so you don't have to edit each Statement Group item individually. Or perhaps have another option called 'Prior Period' within that selection list.

You can workaround this by signing into Adagio Ledger using the last day of the previous month. Thus when you print the Statement Group, the Current Period will actually select the fiscal period you want, namely the previous period.
-----------------
As for your first about numbers not being as you expected, could you provide an example of what you did? IE what field are you looking at, what value/period did you want to print, and what value/period actually printed for you?

Hi bd,

You have identified a problem where the "Statement Group Print" does not correctly set the Fiscal Period.

It turns out that the only time the Fiscal Period is correctly set is when you use both .SmartSheet and .AutoUpdate in the Statement.

We will address this issue as soon as possible and consider your suggestion for a "Previous" fiscal period. A work around for the Previous issue woud be to start the G/L with the last day of the previous month and then "Current" would provide the expected statements.
