Is it possible to set up two different discounts for one order and subsequent invoice in Order Entry? Version 8.1F (130708)
One of our customers wants a 3% advertising allowance and a 2% market development fund allowance with discount to be deducted at time of invoicing. Ideally they want each amount displayed on the invoice.
What is the simpliest way to do this?

You can use the tax setup for this purpose. It fairly complex. Your Adagio dealer should be able to assist you with this.

We do something similar. We have set-up a misc charge in order entry called Special Discount. Assign it to an account and select how taxes operate on it. The person who is entering the order must calculate the discount but it is much less involved.

Thanks for your ideas. I am not sure whether they will work for me, but I will definitely give them some thought.
Another question: Is it possible to make a formula on the Order entry specifications. Example. I use a 5% discount. Then when I design the invoice specification I tell it to calculate 40% of the discount. I am using field E17. I am visualizing something like (E17*0.4). I doubt very much if this is possible but I thought I would ask.

The math can be done using PrintBoss.

PrintBoss can capture the invoice before it gets to the printer, do the math, and place the result (someplace specified) on the form, then send it to the printer.
