Hello,

Do I need to save configuration files (settings, etc.) when upgrading Ledger (8.0D to 9.1A) and Payables (8.0A to 8.1F)? If so, which files would I save, and from where to where?

Thanks for any help?

No, just make sure to make a backup of the data prior to upgrading, the backup will save the configuration files.

And carefully read all the release notes for the versions you are skipping. 8 to 9 is a big step, supporting multiple years and a soft year end.

Thanks Andrew,

I've since found out that I'm already at version 9.0A on the GL, so I don't anticipate any big issues. The upgrade note for this upgrade says that it is an easy upgrade. smile

Thanks Steve. You've confirmed what I thought, partly. When I asked about the configuration, I was thinking about custom settings that might apply to our company's setup. My understanding is that when I upgrade, the old backed up data will no longer be readable/usable by the new system, and that the upgrade converts the data to the new format. I would think that part of the upgrade would be to convert custom settings (part of "the configuration") as needed. Is this correct? Thanks.

Everything that needs to be converted is converted, with the exception of custom reports you have designed yourself, such as GridView reports, Crystal Reports, or reports sitting in the \ModRP folder (if that doesn't mean anything to you, then don't worry about it).

If you have custom reports, and they stop working, you would probably be best off speaking to your Adagio consultant about them. Usually they are easy to convert once you know how.
