The video is very helpful but we have to choose Mapi rather Direct in
Adagio's email method.
With Mapi we use smtp.gmail.com and port 587
How about Direct?
Terima kasih (thank you in Malaysia)

This is for Lester

1) run program on server or other machine that is alway on.
2) configure stunnel
3) setup adagio with ythe IP address or hostname of the computer running stunnel in the "mail server" field

Can you please brief me on how to configure stunnel. My client is using WinXP Professional SP3

You might be interested in my post on page two of that thread if you're looking for more detailed instructions on setting up stunnel for direct mailing to servers which require SSL encryption.

[whateverservicenameyouwant]
client = yes
accept = (the local IP address of the PC the stunnel service is running on):(the port Adagio is set to send mail through)
connect = (the address or name of the smtp server):(the port it is expecting to send mail through)

2. Change the outgoing server in Adagio's email setup to be the local IP of the machine running the stunnel service and ensure the other adagio configuration options are correct.

3. You may have to experiment a little with some of the extra security options as they are provided in the sample stunnel configuration file, depending on what the mail server you are sending through is 'expecting'.

I've never set up stunnel for gmail specifically so I can't offer any more detailed advice, but that should get you started.

Alternatively, Google does keep a server open for devices/programs that don't support ssl and you can find more information about that here.

It's come to my attention that Google's alternate, non-ssl requiring server now only sends messages to accounts that google hosts (ie. gmail and hosted domains only).

If you do not use stunnel or a similar SSL-wrapping service, then your direct messages through aspmx.l.google.com will not be delivered unless the recipient happens to live in the google-verse.

Excuse the post if the answer was starring me in the face.

We use Gmail. Trying to set up DIRECT Email in OE for the Invoices and the only thing I can get to work is is the okay button on the failure message. Reading the thread, am I to understand Adagio DIRECT email wont work properly with Gmail?

Please help!

Clay S.
