Hllo DHB,

Here's the easiest way to make a copy.

  • Open Explorer and navigate to the directory containing your data.
  • Create a New Folder and call it "Fiscal2003".
  • Click on the "Name" column to sort the directory contents by name.
  • Highlight all the file names that begin "GL" by clicking on the first file, and then "shift-clicking" on the last file.
  • Press ctrl-c to copy the list of files.
  • Double click on the Fiscal2003 folder you created.
  • Press ctrl-v to paste a copy of all your GL files.
  • Start Adagio Ledger.
  • Before clicking "OK", use the "browse" (single folder) button to choose the GLGLOB.xxx file in the Fiscal2003 folder.
  • Edit the company profile, and change the name of the company to include "- Prior Year", or "- Fiscal 2003".
  • Change the background color of the Ledger desktop so you won't confuse this data with your current set.
  • Adagio Ledger will remember this GL in the set of files that have been opened (list multiple folders on the login screen).
Does this work for you?

In the Adagio Ledger company profile, there is a setting on the first screen called 'Company Color'. Click the checkbox and also the button to the right in order to select the background colour. Your colour settings through Windows (32-bit, 16-bit, etc) will determine how many choices you have.

Typically I like to use the 'custom colours' if possible because you can make them as bold or as pale as you like. The standard 256 colours tend to be quite bold...

Hello DHB,

If you know you have done something before, then you might try pressing the F1 key and searching the help file. I did this and typed "colo" into the Find. It took me to the right place.

Just a suggestion - the help is quite extensive in Adagio, and might well contain what you're looking for.
