In AR, I want the payment to age. Right now, it remains in current. eg. I receive a cheque from customer, they take a debit for $100.00, I enter it as a new entry as Debit 1 $100.00 with the rest of the invoice payments. I want this payment advise to continue aging as outstanding. What would be better, how can I just have it age as "Debit 1" instead of inside the payment advise and not have to adjust it out. Hope this makes sense?

It will age if you enter the payment as a negative invoice ( put the cheque number in the document field)

I do enter it as a negative invoice but I usually put the debit note number that the customer states and not the cheque number and it doesn't age? Here's another question relating to this, when I get a payment and the customer has taken two debits (debit 1 and debit 2), I want these debits to age alone, outside of the cash payment, how can I do that? I have a few customers that will pay 40 invoices and have 5 debit memo's, so I clear the invoices but the 5 debit memos stay within the payment. Again, I want this outside of the payment, on it's own showing up at "debit 1 $10.00" and aging. Can I do that?

The is a page on the Technical Tips that describes how documents are aged in Receivables. Generally, unapplied cash is always "current".

If you do not like the way that the program is aging your documents, then you will need someone to design a custom report to implement the aging you desire. It will be a complex report to create.
