I want to delete Softrak's Receivables "Invoices - No Job Costing Default" template. Can't. Seems to be protected with some hard-coding. Any way around this? I added three templates for my client and I don't want them to be distracted by a fourth.

The only way I can think of that might work is GV-RW but I've never tried. The templates are in alphabetical order. How about preceding the names of your 3 templates by by "A)", "B)" and "C)" to push them to the top of the list?

Better to teach my client to ignore it. But still...

No one has ever asked, but it seems reasonable to allow with a warning.

BTW - the import choice is remembered, so once your client has successfully done one, they should never have to make a choice again (although you mention that you have defined 3).

If I want items to sort to the top of a list, I often start the name with "_" (an underscore).
