Ledger 9.1A (130523) and (130726)
Financial Reporter

My client asked that I post this on the forum. Here is the issue:

We save our financial statement files when we close the statement, but one of the statements is not “remembering” the Dept that we last selected.
Normally, when we open a statement, it opens with data from the same Dept that we were last viewing.
This is still working for some of our statemtents, but not all of them.

Note that we have many hundreds of Dept’s.

In past versions of Ledger (before 9.1A), we would save and close the statement.
When we opened it again, it would open with the last Dept that we were displaying.

This no longer happens with one of our larger statements. (The file has about 5-6 tabs on the bottom.)

Is there an option in Financial Reporter that we have to activate to make this happen?

Hi Samuel,

There are no options to control this behaviour.

I did a test on saved Departments, using the SuperSpec in sample data, which has 9 tabs and 4 departments. I found that individual departments and masks are 'remembered' for each tab on the financial report between usages, but department ranges are not - the first department in the list is the visible value. Perhaps it is a department range that your client is using for this particular statement?

Specifications do not use differing lists of departments, so I would not expect the reason for this to be based on the statement itself.

This is a Dept Range. We are using 436:999 in this case as our range.

I doubt the financial reporter has ever "remembered" a range, but thanks for pointing this out.
