I have closed off the year and started on a new year.

I have posted a few batches and have had to go back and look into my Posting Journal files. When I do this it is pointing me to the last fiscal Posting Journals. All of my accounting in the GL Detailed listing is correct but the Posting Journals are not. ANY suggestion?

Thank you

Hi Lisa

I'm guessing that you didn't close the year fully. Not only do you have to "Close Income/Expense Acct" but you also have to "Close Current Fiscal Year".

If I'm right then you have a mess on your hands, with two years intermingled. You will be wise to seek help from your Adagio consultant.

Hi Lisa,

What version of Adagio Ledger are you running?

When a year is closed in Adagio Ledger, all posting journals for the 'current' year are purged, whether as part of the Year End process or by printing and clearing. Any batches posted to the Next Fiscal Year will now be available as the 'new' Current fiscal year posting journal report.

Can you explain what is wrong about the posting journal you are looking at? Does transactions list from the previous year posting sequences? Something else? I have heard of isolated scenarios in older versions of Ledger where data files were not correctly cleared as part of purging (posting journal, batch status, etc) and closing a fiscal year could properly deal with files that shouldn't have been there.

I agree with Steve that some assistance from your Adagio consultant would likely be more beneficial, as they will be able to see your data (before and after closing the year).

Hi, Lisa,

To close this issue, having looked at the data, we found that it was damaged (probably due to an improper restore completed at some time before closing the year prior to the one just closed).

The data has been repaired and returned.
