We are running GL 6.8B Ver 021120
Our data is on a server. I am backing this data up onto a CD using "Backpack CD-rewriter". The backup proceeds smoothly and then to test it I copied the data (Windows 2000 - Explore) back to a "Test" file on the server. When I attempted to access this data it would not open but returned the message "Critical Error [1305] Unknown DOS error accessing EZTASKS file". Can you tell me what the problem is?

Hi Ken,

Adagio requires write access to the EZTASKS.LD4 file, as this controls multi-user locking. If you restored files from a CD, all of those files will have the Read-only attribute enabled, meaning you can't write to the file.

You will be able to find this file in either the \ASP or \Softrak\System directories, depending on whether you also continue to use Accpac Plus.

One other known reason for getting this error is that Accpac Plus is in use but no WSM Lanpaks are installed. In this situation, the single Accpac usage locks the EZTASKS.LD4 file exclusively so no other process (including Adagio) can write to that file. The solution in this case is to install a WSM Lanpak or not use Accpac Plus (at the same time as Adagio).
