Hi Adrienne,

As for the warnings, you have an account that has been set to have an expected debit balance but it does not, for either the current or next year. This is just a warning to let you know that a net credit balance exists and to investigate who posted what to this account.

As for the next fiscal year posting journal error, it is being reported as corrupt. Can you print preview the report without errors? I suspect that some sort of error/problem will occur.

You could try making a backup of the data, and then attempting to rebuild the error. I do not know if the posting journal is rebuildable.

Do you have the next fiscal year open? Did you post a batch in the next year recently? When did you notice a problem and what was the last function you can recall doing in Ledger? You may require the assistance of your Adagio consultant on this issue.

Hi
I'm aware of what the warnings represent; I was more concerned about the Data Integrity Check being stopped by the system as a result of the posting journals being out of sequence.

Yes, I have multiple years open and no closed periods at this point;
Yes, I have posted 110 batches in next year and over 1000 posted in current year.
The problem arises when I go to print posting journals, there are no next year posting journals available to print. The only posting journals available to print are batches that had been posted to current year. Oddly enough there are also posting journals available to print that actually represent prior year's posted batches.
I'm using ledger v 9.0D (111017)

"Posting journal next year file out of order."

If you were to use GridView to look at the next year posting journal, including the Fiscal Year in the View, you would see that the posting journal contains the entries for both years.

Something may have happened at year end or files were copied around.

Hi Adrienne

If DIC (Data Integrity Check) will not allow you to Rebuild, or if Rebuild doesn't fix your errors, you would be best off restoring from a backup that is clean, no matter how old it is. Most likely a backup from before the creation of Next Year would be clean, but hopefully you can find a more recent one.

Although it is tedious, it is not really that time consuming to merge 100+ batches from your current data into a clean backup. If the task seems daunting, ask your Adagio consultant for help. It's something I do fairly regularly for clients, usually for reasons having nothing to do with corrupt data. I "recover" the batches I want to merge, export them to Excel and then import them into the backup. It can be a little more complicated than that if there are new accounts or departments, or financial report mods.

As a last resort, Softrak will quote you to fix your data. I say last resort because that is something you would typically arrange through your consultant.

Steve
