I'm installing ePrint at a client site today. Previously they had the client demo installed and they're installing the real deal.

Between the testing time and now, they have moved to a new server. The old server Adagio drive was N -- the new one uses S. There are 4 companies.

Under ePrint user preferences, I cannot save my edits for two of the companies because it's still pointing to the N drive under User PReferences - Report Options tab - Default print to file path.

These fields are not editable in ePrint.

In each module (AP, GL, AR, Invoices), we have corrected the User Preferences - Default print to file path to the correct drive S.

ePrint is working fine - files are created in the appropriate folders. However, we would like to get rid of this lurking reference to the N drive in the two companies.

Can you advise?

Hi Carol,

The setting for 'Default print to file path' on the Report Options tab of User Preferences actually refers to where reports are saved when they are printed to File, such as Word or Excel, and has no effect on using Adagio ePrint for printing to PDF, and nor does Adagio ePrint have any effect on what you can do with this path. These settings are saved in the 'Common Files' in the data directory (those data files starting with the 'SD' prefix).

What happens when you try to browse for a different 'Default print to file path' from User Preferences and save the changes? An error message - if so, what is it? Does this problem happen for all users accessing these two companies or just some? Each user has their own settings saved in the 'Common Files', and of course need to be able to have write rights.

I got it when logged in as SYS. I didn't try another user.

When I try to change the path or browse to another folder, I can't click on the folder button -- or actually do anything to change settings on that tab (check boxes, etc.) I click around and it's kind of like I'm clicking on a screenshot, nothing happens.

It wouldn't matter much but unfortunately, I cannot save user preferences at all. I can make changes to the other tabs, just not this one. For example, I'm able to set a different desktop color for these two databases and also take advantage of the text on the desktop, where we type in the company name and the module - but with the invalid path, i cannot save these changes. Again, not the end of the world by any stretch, but frustrating that I cannot change it and I am sure there is a way, but I can't find it!

So, I am able to change the background, desktop color, etc., but when I try to save or "set for all users" I get an error message "Invalid path," where it's complaining about the (Nonexistent) N drive.

Does this make sense?

On a happier note, they are very happy w/ the functionality and ability to eliminate reams of paper.

Due to a weirdness in this particular Microsoft control, you need to actually pick a file (any file) in any folder and click "Open". Then, only the Folder path will be stored.

Or, you can just type a valid path into the Folder name. I know this works - I've just been through the process on my machine. Once you've changed it for SYS you can set it for all users.
