Hello,

I have run across an error when printing reports in Adagio Payables 6.8b
"The file \...\QRASP\QRTABLES.INI could not be found"

Had this error 2 weeks ago on an NT computer and found that another program replaced the CRPE32.dll file with newer version (8 while Adagio uses version 7) I replaced this file with the correct version (also fixed the crw.ini file to point to correct directory)and the program worked with our error.

We are updating our workstation from NT 4, SP6a to Win XP SP1. Installed all adaigo programs and tested and everything worked fine.

Yesterday updated a program on my XP test CPU the replaced the CRPE32.dll with the newer version and now I receive the QRTABLES.ini file error.

Am doing this as domain administrator so not a rightes isssue, Checked th crw.ini file and that is correct (see below), replaced the crpe32.dll file to version 7 and still receiving the error.

This is a concern because several of our finance people use both adagio and other programs the use this crystal report file.

Is this a case were version 6.2b may not be compatable with XP or an XP file registry issue?

I will uninstall the program that uses the newer dll file and reinstall the adagio programs.

Hi Jeffrey,

Because Adagio is a 32-bit application, it reads information pertaining to the report tables drive from the Windows registry rather than the crw.ini file (which is used for 16-bit Crystal Reports or Quik Reports for Windows). Thus the correct report tables drive is identified from the registry, which could potentially be different depending on who you log onto your Win NT/2000/XP machine as.

If you run the utility program CHKSYS.EXE (found in the \softrak\system directory), it will identify whether you have a valid report tables drive specified - though it may not be the 'correct' drive.

If you want to find the registry key that Adagio uses for the report tables drive, it can be found at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Softrak Systems
Quik Reports
key: System Path = T: \

My experience is that if the CRPE32.DLL gets replaced by a version 8 or 8.5 file, different error messages result rather than the QRTABLES.INI being reported as missing. A 'missing' QRTABLES is invariably due to the wrong or missing registry entry.

Uninstalled all adagio and crystal report software. Reinstall the adagio, Quick Reports, then the other application did not replace the crpe32.dll. The first time it did an upgrade and replaced this file, but a clean install saw the file was there and did not replace it.

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Is everything up and running now?

FYI (for anyone reading this): Quik Reports for Windows (all versions) is a 16-bit application, meaning it uses a file CRPE.DLL (version 4.0) rather than it's 32-bit cousin CRPE32.DLL (version 7.0). If CRPE32.DLL is being overwritten with a version 8.0 or 8.5 file, it is due to some other application rather than Adagio or Crystal Reports for Adagio.
